Dzogchen is a special set of teachings and practice instructions that have been handed down for over a thousand years within the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Dzogchen is considered the highest and most profound of all the Buddha’s teachings. Especially suited for lay practitoners, no path of awakening is quicker or more complete. It is also the easiest to practice, as everything that we need to accomplish realization is already present to us.

The Kansas City Dzogchen Group has been meeting for seven years on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 10am to Noon in Classroom C at Unity on the Plaza. There is no charge for attending. Dana offerings are accepted.

The group coordinators are long term Buddhist students, who have studied with many Tibetan teachers, and have played an important part in the development of Tibetan Buddhism in Kansas City and the Midwest. The two hour meetings consist of short meditation and sadhana (chanted prayer) practices, dharma talks and discussion.

The group also hosts more in depth programs at its rural retreat center. For further information on our local activities, contact us at westerntext@msn.com. Our Buddhist blog, Wutai Mountain, is at wutai.wordpress.com.
